The insuring agreement of part A of the Personal Auto Policy provides liability coverage to the insured should the insured become legally responsible for damages to another party because of an auto accident; the agreement also provides for defense costs coverage in case the insured is sued by the injured party. These coverages are subject to certain exclusions that are listed on the policy, and to a limit of liability that is shown in the declarations.
